I would say that zinc oxide cream has its benefits but that anyone wishing to use it should be aware of the dangers it can pose on sensitive skin. For instance, I don’t recommend it 100 percent for babies. It works great as a healthy, non-toxic sunscreen. But, stick to applying it to your own skin or a child’s skin. A baby’s skin is just too sensitive for it. It really won’t hurt them terribly. It just might irritate the skin even though it is supposed to help diaper rash.
In fact, it is in several diaper rash medicines. I think it is just best not to use a lot on a baby’s skin. It does help with many other issues like skin cancer and treating warts. These are things I have read online so I’m not sure they really work – but zinc as a skin medication has been around for thousands of years so it is good for some things!
I find it works really well as a natural sunscreen. I think any reaction a person gets to it could be due to using too much of it. I’d be careful with baby’s skin but I don’t think it can really hurt them.
