I recently bought a tapered curling iron. I really was tired of using the same old curling iron and when mine broke I went shopping for a new one. I had never used a tapered one but decided to give it a try. I like the way it makes my hair look.
It has a pointed barrel and works pretty much the same as any other heated styling tool but it leaves your hair with really unique, beachy, full volume curls. The wand that I got came with a glove, too. These tools can go up to about 450 degrees F so you have got to be careful using them.
I recommend choosing an iron that has the temperature gauge read out on it. This allows you to see which temperature works for your hair. I have fine hair and found that I cannot use it higher than 430 or it sort of fries my hair. Still, when I use it I can do reverse curls and I end up with full, stylish curls. I love that the iron allows me to curl my hair fast. You can also use it to get traditional curls using the base of the barrel.
