I’ve started buying sensitive stomach cat food for my beloved Smokey. I love her and feel terrible when she gets an upset stomach. My carpet feels terrible when her stomach starts acting up if you know what I mean. I didn’t want my feline to suffer but finding something she would eat was more of a challenge than I thought it would be. The reason is not that there are no good products on the market. There are. It is just that I have to find one that she liked.
If you have cats, you probably know that they have that sixth sense about food. If it’s good for them or supposed to treat a problem, they just instinctively hate it. At least that is how I saw things until I went through a few trial size packages of big brand cat foods for sensitive stomachs. I’d recommend sticking to a flavor that your cat usually eats. For instance, my cat is a big fish eater and really never liked any beef-flavored foods so I bought her a fish-flavored dry food. I also made sure to really read the labels carefully.
In the end, I found a food that agreed with my Smokey’s stomach. She seems happier. I never did find what caused her to have a sensitive stomach but the vet I took her to thought it might just be an age-related symptom.
