A friend of mine got me into using essential oils after giving me some orange oil to try. The oil had a nice aroma and was refreshing. I was curious about other oils I could try, and read that I should really start using frankincense and myrrh essential oil. The two tree oils are famous because of their mention in the Bible, but many people don’t know that the oils are actually good for the body.
A little bit of frankincense can go a long way in boosting the human immune system. When used with cuts and wounds, it can ward off infections and aid in coagulation to close the wound. The oil can also help the body relax by lowering blood pressure, calming the mind, and opening air passages. It can even be used to treat acne and indigestion.
Myrrh can be used in the same way as frankincense to help with digestion and for immune system strengthening. The oil also has properties that make it good for combating wrinkles, and hair loss. It has also been widely used for battling fungi in cases of athletes foot and other skin conditions. Whenever I get a scrape, I reach for the myrrh and frankincense.
